Looking back at 2011

Welcome to 2012 everybody! I hope you had a great Christmas time and enjoyed New Year's eve. Just like last year, I wanted to look back at my own blog to see what took place.

Sadly, I wasn't able to post a lot this year due to personal circumstances. Yet, I'm pretty sure that all the posts that I did place are true, high quality unique articles that you might be able to use for your next web project since they were mainly about jQuery, CSS3 or HTML5. I really hope you liked reading the articles on for the last year!

Looking back at 2011

As for 2012, I hope to write more articles than past year. I might write more Quick Tips; Shorter articles, but those that contain extremely useful tips/code snippets that you might use. And in case you haven't seen it on Twitter yet, this was the Christmas card my girlfriend and I made for this year.

I wish you all the best for 2012 and let's check some articles placed here last year.

jQuery Mobile First Look: Book review and Giveaway

Packt Publishing There is no doubt that mobile currently is hot. The team behind the favourite JavaScript framework of many (jQuery) answered the need of a touch-optimized web framework, and decided to create jQuery Mobile. The development focuses on creating a framework compatible with a wide variety of smartphones and tablets. Although the framework was released almost one year ago, not many people know about it. Luckily, Giulio Bai wrote a book about the first steps into jQuery Mobile.

Thanks to Packt Publishing, I was able to read the book and wrote a review about it that you can read below. At the start, I was already really looking forward to it, since I never played around with the framework before. Now, you have a chance to win this book (almost 200 pages) and read it yourself!

jQuery Mobile First Look

What you'll learn from this book:

Looking back at 2010

This is it: The last day of 2010! Normally, the last post of the year on Marcofolio would be a "Best of the Best" round-up (see 2008 and 2009), but for this year, I wanted to look back at my own blog.

This was the year where I created only 32 article (the least I created in the past years), but I'm pretty sure all of them are true high quality articles (no imagedumps, list posts etc.). Most of them are web dev related, about jQuery, CSS3 or HTML5. I really hoped you liked reading the articles on for the last year!

Looking back at 2010

I have nothing left to say except to wish you a safe and joyful new year's eve and I hope to see you back (with all your fingers) in 2011! Check out this Christmas/New years card from me and my girlfriend, wishing this to everybody in the world.

Now let's take a look back at Marcofolio over the past year.

Sharing some fudge with Franz Jeitz

It has been a while since I've had a chat conversation with another designer/developer (it was with Chris Coyier). But for the last couple of weeks, I've had a great chat/interview with Franz Jeitz, which you may know from his blog: fudgegraphics - freebies, tutorials and inspiration for design lovers.

Franz Jeitz Chat

Let's sit down, take a cup of tea together with this tea-lover from London, and read this chat conversation with this creative man behind the scenes of fudgegraphics. Did you know the fudge-part of the name doesn't have anything to do with the food? Wonder what it does mean? I promise you, you'll find his answer surprising.
